Our Story

How it all started...

Our church started in a flower shop and then a Jim Thorpe Park pavilion in August 2009. After the Assembly of God moved to a new location that October, we began meeting in their former building and have remained there since.
Bro. Michael Dershem served as Pastor/Youth Minister from November 2009 until his passing in December 2024, with two other couples periodically serving as Youth Ministers in that ministry position. Bro. Rick Cope has been our Intentional Interim Pastor since early 2025. We are currently praying for a new Pastor for our church, the man God has for us to lead us on to great things.
We also meet in our Downtown Building on Main Street for fellowship and ministry activities and adult & youth classes. The building belongs to a church member and we were given permission to use it as long as we need it. It is used for our Fellowship Hall, two SS Small Group classes, and The Cave, for Wednesday evening Youth Group. We do an abundance of ministry with our community out of this building. We are very thankful to these church members for allowing us to minister from it.
We are currently constructing a new building on Yale's Main Street and look forward to moving in once it is complete so everything will be in one building, under one roof. We are praying that happens soon. Until then, we will serve where God has placed us and keep loving and ministering to our community, and surrounding areas, in His name.

Where we are headed...

The vision of Fellowship Baptist Church | Yale, OK is to lift up the name of Jesus in season and out of season. To love people for who they are, not what they do. To seek God's will and purpose and live every day in anticipation of Christ's return. The Bible says I can have faith to move mountains, but if I have not love, I am nothing. We love our Lord, our community, our nation. Come join us and sense God's presence in the love that we have one for another.
No matter where we serve from, we want to always serve for Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
